On 7-12-2016, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested David Aksel Bunch, 26 years of age, of 4829 Hwy. 17 south in Chocowinity, Carlie Toppin, 23 years of age, of 4829 Hwy. 17 south in Chocowinity and Malcolm Bunch, 30 years of age, of 4829 Hwy. 17 south in Chocowinity.

David Bunch and Carlie Toppin were charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia not used for Marijuana.

Malcolm Bunch was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Manufacturing Marijuana and Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance.

Their arrest stemmed from Investigators assisting Probation Officers with conducting warrantless searches on David Bunch and Malcolm Bunch who are currently on probation.  Investigators and Probation Officers found marijuana, snorting straws, syringes, spoons with burnt marks and a marijuana smoking pipe in a bedroom shared by Carlie Toppin and David Bunch.

Investigators found Malcolm Bunch hiding in the woods behind his residence were 26 marijuana plants were located.  Investigators and Probation Officers searched Malcolm Bunch’s bedroom and found marijuana and suboxone a schedule III controlled substance.

David Bunch and Carlie Toppin were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000.00 secured bond.  Malcolm Bunch was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $25,000.00 secured bond.
