On 8-18-2016, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested, Jamale Antwan Stilley, 33 years of age, of 18980 Hwy. 33 East in Edward.  Stilley was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Alprazolam a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Flee to Elude Arrest, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Felony Probation Violation.

Stilley’s arrest stemmed from Investigators conducting surveillance in the Edward and Aurora area on residences known to be involved in drug use and drug distribution.  Investigators spotted Stilley driving a silver Hyundai on Main Street in Edward.  Investigators knew there was an active warrant on Stilley for Felony Probation Violation.

Investigators attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on Stilley.  Stilley refused to stop and led Investigators on a short chase that ended in the parking lot of the Veri Kwik Store in Edward.  Stilley attempted to throw a pistol out the window while traveling through the parking lot of the Veri Kwik Store.  Stilley was apprehended and searched.

Investigators found a Ruger LCP 380 caliber pistol and digital scales in the front passenger seat.  Investigators found a plastic bag hidden on Stilley that contained five bags of cocaine, nine Alprazolam pills and a bag of marijuana.

Stilley was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $40,000.00 secured bond.
