The Court Services Unit is responsible for the security, safety and order of the courthouse consisting of the Judges, courthouse employees and the general public. Bailiffs assist judges with logistical issues when they arise, and coordinate with the other offices inside the court system such as the clerks and district attorney’s office.

Bailiffs also are responsible for the transportation of inmates from our detention facility and other jails or prisons across the state to and from court proceedings or court ordered mental health evaluations.

For any questions for Courthouse Operations, and how they can better serve you, contact the Sheriff’s Office at (252)946-7111 and ask for Captain Miller.
