On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at about 2:10 pm, Beaufort County EMS Personnel and Beaufort County Deputies were dispatched to a report of an unconscious woman, inside a car at the Travel Store #7 with a syringe in her lap.
Deputy Phillip Peaden was the first to arrive on scene and attempted to make contact with the woman. When she noticed his presence, 29 yr old Brittany Ann Futrell of Lagrange, sped away leading Peaden and other Deputies on a brief chase. Futrell was taken into custody after she stopped on Hwy 32 N, near Casey Road.
Based on evidence found in her car, and her obvious signs of impairment, Futrell was charged with Felony Fleeing to Elude Arrest, Felony Possession of Heroin, Driving While Impaired and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. At the time of this release Futrell was being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,500.00 secured bond.
