On September 1, 2014, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of larceny by an employee at a convenience store business on Highway 264 East in Washington, NC. A Deputy responded to take a report and learned the employee had taken cash and cigarettes. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation and reviewed video surveillance from the store.

As a result, Investigator Jeremy Landeck applied for and obtained a warrant charging Hope Christine Cartledge, age 21 of Wells Avenue in Washington, with three counts of Larceny By Employee.

On September 9th, Cartledge was arrested by the Tarboro Police Department and transported to the Edgecombe County Detention Center. She was brought before Magistrate Phillip Brown and released on a $1,000.00 unsecured.
