On October 12, 2014 at approximately 4:55 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential breaking and entering that occurred on Baker Drive in Washington, NC. The victim reported that someone had forcibly entered his home and took car stereo equipment. The victim provided a description of the equipment and a serial number for a stereo that was stolen.

On October 13th at 7:00 a.m., Deputies responded to a residence on Charlotte Street in Washington after receiving information that some of the stolen equipment was in a car at the location. Deputy James Mills responded and made contact with a subject asleep in a car at the residence. Deputy Mills observed an amplifier reported stolen in the rear passenger area of the car. A receipt showing that the stolen stereo equipment had been sold at a resale business in Greenville, NC was also recovered.

After conducting interviews and recovering the amplifier, Deputy Mills arrested Prentice Barrow Jr., age 21 of Union Street in Belhaven, and Raimelle Peterson, age 16 of Charlotte Street in Washington. Barrow and Peterson were both charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Larceny After Breaking and Entering. Each was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000.00 secured bond set by Magistrate David Curtis.
