Acting on a tip from the Washington Police Department, on August 30, 2016, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Carlton Tucker Freeman, age 46 of Louisville, Kentucky. Deputies learned from the tipster that Freeman, who was living on Hwy 33 East of Chocowinity, was a registered sex offender and a parole absconder wanted by the State of Kentucky.
Deputies confirmed Freeman was wanted, then responded to the address given by the tipster, where they located and identified Freeman. When deputies attempted to take Freeman in to custody, he resisted arrest but was subdued and arrested. Freeman who was also charged with Resisting, Delaying and or Obstructing an Officer was ordered held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $505,000.00 secured bond. Freeman now faces extradition back to Kentucky.
