On Monday, May 8th, 2017 Cory Edward Anderson of Core Point Road, an inmate serving a 30 day sentence for a probation violation, died at the Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington as a result of a medical condition.
Mr. Anderson began serving his sentence on Friday, April 28th, 2017. On Sunday, May 7th, 2017 Mr. Anderson reported that he was not feeling well to the nurse on duty and was transported to Vidant Beaufort hospital.
Sheriff’s Office staff has been in contact with Mr. Anderson’s family, hospital staff, the local district attorney’s office, as well as state officials throughout this incident. No further information will be released at this time.
