On Wednesday 05/17/17 at approximately 10:14am a subject that was just sentenced to 8 to 19 months active time in prison for Felony Breaking and Entering and Larceny ran from the Superior Courtroom in an attempt to escape. The subject was not in the custody of the Sheriff’s Office when he ran, therefore he was not in restraints, nor was he under guard at the time.
The subject, Emil Michael Taylor of Gilbert Lane in Washington was apprehended at approximately 10:18am near the intersection of 3rd St. and VanNorden St. Taylor was taken into custody by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies with assistance from Officers with the Washington Police Department and Probation Officers with the Department of Adult Corrections.
