On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Investigators responded to an apparent murder/ suicide at 11736 NC 33 Hwy E, Chocowinity. Once inside the home investigators found 2 persons dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The response came after a family member requested a welfare check on the home’s occupants.
Based on a previous domestic incident from the night before and after interviewing family members, reviewing, and collecting evidence, investigators were able to determine that 52 yr. old Timothy O’Carroll shot his wife, 49 yr. old Tracy O’Carroll and then turned the gun on himself.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office would like to express condolences to the families of Timothy and Tracy O’Carroll.
