On August 02, 2023, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 5833 Bonnerton Rd. in Edward, NC. As a result, Deputies seized over 100 grams of the powerful synthetic opioid known as fentanyl.

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 2 milligrams of fentanyl is considered to be a lethal dose. This seizure by Deputies is enough fentanyl to potentially kill over 50,000 people, which is more than the population of Beaufort County.

During the month of August, Deputies followed up on intelligence gained from a recent search warrant conducted on Bobby Lee Moore Jr. The information learned from Moore’s arrest led Deputies to 5833 Bonnerton Rd. Edward, NC and the seizure of over 100 grams of fentanyl,

28 grams of marijuana and a .22cal rifle. After serving the search warrant and collecting evidence, Deputies arrested Harold Lee Grimes Jr. age 50, Jabari Contae Grimes age 41 and Tracy Nicole Hill age 36.

Harold Lee Grimes Jr. was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $145,000 secured bond under the following charges:

– Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Fentanyl) by Possession

-PWISD Schedule II Fentanyl

-PWISD Schedule III

-Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep and Sell Controlled Substances

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Jabari Contae Grimes was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $145,000 secured bond under the following charges:

– Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Fentanyl) by Possession

-PWISD Schedule II Fentanyl

-Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep and Sell Controlled Substances

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Tracy Nicole Hill was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond under the following charges:

– Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Fentanyl) by Possession

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Since January 1st of this year, Deputies have seized more than 200 grams of fentanyl off the streets of Beaufort County. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with local entities to help combat the harmful effects of fentanyl and are committed to keeping dangerous drugs out of our community.
