On October 19th 2023, William Charles Waters, age 36 of Washington NC was convicted and later sentenced for the shooting that occurred at Slatestone Grocery in Washington NC on January 11th, 2021.
William Waters was convicted of Felony Second Degree Murder and sentenced to 330 – 408 months (27.5 to 34 years) in the Division of Adult Corrections. Waters conviction stemmed from the combined work of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Highway Patrol, and District Attorney’s Office
