The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has received nineteen reports of Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicles in the Washington area along the River Road corridor and US 264 West corridor since December 1, 2023. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted concentrated patrols and Detectives investigated the incidents.

On January 03, 2024, Deputies with the Patrol Division arrested 30-year-old Jonathan Hudson on an outstanding arrest warrant for Felony Breaking and Entering and Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering in the parking lot of a business in Washington. Deputies learned Hudson had been in a vehicle in the parking lot with 45-year-old Bradford Reason and 45-year-old Ronika Martinez moments prior to his arrest. Narcotics, paraphernalia, and evidence from recent motor vehicle break-ins along the River Road corridor was located during a search of the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Jonathan Hudson was charged with one count each of Felony Possession of Cocaine, Misdemeanor Possession of Sch III Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, three counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, one count of Felony Larceny, four counts of Attempted Obtain Property by False Pretense, three counts of Obtain Property by False Pretense, and five counts of Felony Identity Theft and was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $25,000 secured bond.

Bradford Reason was charged with one count each of Felony Possession of Cocaine and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, five counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, four counts of Felony Larceny, two counts of Identify Theft, two counts of Attempt Obtain Property by False Pretense, one count of First Degree Trespass, and one count of Felony Conspiracy and was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond.

Ronika Martinez was charged with one count each of Felony Possession of Cocaine, Misdemeanor Possession of Sch III Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia and was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond.

On January 23, 2024, Deputies obtained warrants, charging 38-year-old Craig Steven Hudson, II with two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle and one count each of Felony Larceny, and Obtain Property by False Pretense.

On February 8, 2024, around 10:14 pm, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by 30-year-old Jeffrey Michael Wicker of the Avenue Road, Washington for a traffic violation. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, Deputies located concealed firearms and additional evidence related to the vehicle break-ins along the River Road corridor. As a result of the traffic stop, Wicker was charged with one count each of Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Weapon, Possess Drug Paraphernalia, and four counts of Possession of Stolen Property and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $28,000.00 secured bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
