On 10-26-2018, The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Clayton Edwards, 30 years of age, of 306 Eastern Street of Greenville and Nicholas Brown 40 years of age, of 1603 Van Norden Street in Washington. They were both charged with two (2) counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Their arrest stemmed from Investigators receiving information that Brown and Edwards were involved in the distribution of Methamphetamine in Beaufort County and Pitt County. Investigators learned that Brown was getting the Methamphetamine through the US Mail and was expecting a package containing Methamphetamine to be delivered on Friday.

Investigators established surveillance and witnessed the US Mail carrier deliver a package to Brown’s residence. Investigators witnessed Edwards arrive shortly after the package was delivered and retrieve a black bag from Brown. Investigators conducted a vehicle stop on Edwards and found approximately 29 grams of Methamphetamine in the black bag. The 29 grams of Methamphetamine was in a sealed package disguised as Coffee Beans.

Investigators executed a Search Warrant at Brown’s residence and found another sealed Coffee Bean package containing approximately 29 grams of Methamphetamine, small plastic bags containing Methamphetamine and packaging material used to repack and distribute Methamphetamine.

Edwards was detained in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $50,000.00 secured bond. Brown was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $60,000.00 secured bond.
