Sheriff Scott Hammonds, Lieutenant Waters, K9 Athos, and Corporal Davis had a great time attending Career Day at P. S. Jones Middle School!

Students had the opportunity to learn more about careers in law enforcement and the many specialized units within the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. Deputies spoke about K9 operations, highlighting how K9 Athos assists deputies with tracking, narcotics detection, and protecting both deputies and the community.

Students were also introduced to the Sheriff’s Office Drone Team and learned how drones are used to assist with search and rescue missions, missing person cases, and critical incident response. The advanced technology helps deputies quickly gather information and respond more effectively to keep Beaufort County safe.

We appreciate the staff and students at P.S. Jones Middle School for the invitation and the opportunity to share what we do. It’s always a pleasure to connect with our community and inspire the next generation of public servants!
