Beaufort County Fugitive Captured
On July 6, 2026, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the NC SBI Criminal Apprehension Team, located and apprehended 39-year-old Leslie Michael Kitchengs in the Long Acre Area. Kitchengs failed to report to the Beaufort County Detention Center as ordered by the court to serve an active sentence on June 1, 2026. Man Pleads Guilty to Flower and Shrubbery Theft
On June 13th, 2025, Detectives with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unknown subject going onto someone’s property in the Washington area and cutting their Camellia bushes without permission. UPDATE - June 5, 2026 The Washington Police Department has tentatively identified the human remains located on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in the 900 block of Carolina Avenue as those of 66-year-old Washington resident Patrick Michael Kincade. Fentanyl Dealer Arrested in Aurora
On May 13, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Response Team (SRT) executed a search warrant in the Aurora/Richlands area and arrested 46-year-old Donald Ramon Moore and 68-year-old Terry Darnell Riggins Sr. on multiple drug charges.
