On July 24th, 2026, 32-year-old Dashauntis Tyrell Chase of Belhaven, NC, turned himself in to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. Chocowinity Couple Arrested on Felony Animal Cruelty Charges
On June 22, 2026, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible animal remains discovered while the Chocowinity Fire Department was extinguishing a brush fire at a residential property on U.S. Highway 17 South in Chocowinity. Fentanyl Dealer Arrested in Aurora
On May 13, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Response Team (SRT) executed a search warrant in the Aurora/Richlands area and arrested 46-year-old Donald Ramon Moore and 68-year-old Terry Darnell Riggins Sr. on multiple drug charges.
