On July 17th, 2026, members of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 38-year-old Tyshawn Laron Mann of Englehard, NC, for drug trafficking and other drug-related offenses. On June 22, 2026, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible animal remains discovered while the Chocowinity Fire Department was extinguishing a brush fire at a residential property on U.S. Highway 17 South in Chocowinity.
