Murder Suspect in Custody at Beaufort County Detention Center

On July 24th, 2026, 32-year-old Dashauntis Tyrell Chase of Belhaven, NC, turned himself in to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.
Chase had active warrants for the following charges:
Open count of murder
Chase is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond.
