Joint Investigation Disrupts Fentanyl and Cocaine Distribution Network

A coordinated two-month investigation led by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and K-9 team, in partnership with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Greenville Police Department (GPD), has resulted in the disruption of a significant fentanyl and cocaine distribution network operating in Beaufort and Pitt counties.


On February 13, 2026, investigators executed search warrants at two locations — one in Washington, North Carolina, and a related site in Pitt County. The enforcement actions led to the arrests of two individuals and the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs, firearms, and cash.


Investigators seized approximately 800 grams of fentanyl, over 1,300 grams of cocaine, seven firearms, and $13,500 in cash, along with additional evidence related to narcotics distribution. K-9 Rocky played a key role in locating hidden narcotics during the search.


Christopher Michael Credle, 38, of Washington, NC, was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond for the following charges:


- Three felony counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl

- Three felony counts of Trafficking in Cocaine

- Two felony counts of Sell and Deliver Cocaine

- Felony Maintain a Dwelling to Keep and Sell Controlled Substances

- Felony Possession of Marijuana

- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm by Felon

- Two counts of Possession of Stolen Firearm


Mark William Allen Jr., 38, of Washington, NC, was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond for the following charge:


-One felony count of Trafficking in Cocaine by Possession


Sheriff Scott Hammonds commended the collaboration between local and state agencies, emphasizing that ongoing cooperation is vital in identifying, investigating, and dismantling drug trafficking networks that threaten community safety. “This operation represents a significant step forward in combating the spread of dangerous and potentially lethal drugs in our area,” Sheriff Hammonds said. “We remain committed to working alongside our state partners to keep these substances out of Beaufort County and surrounding communities.”


This investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests and charges may be forthcoming.
